Abstract: We introduce a stratification of moduli spaces of differentials. Each stratum corresponds to a class of isolated and smoothable Gorenstein curve singularities with Gm-action that possess the same numerical invariants. We discuss applications to the log minimal model program for the moduli space of curves. This is joint work in progress with Fei Yu.
